Visit USA. Introduction to our website.

Our Visit USA website is a little portal to share our great experiences of visiting the USA, so first of all let us welcome you on our website www.visit-usa.be. This is the 3° version of what started as a simple photo album of our trip to New York in 1999 - 2000.

The main reason why we went to New York the first time was to celebrate New Year 2000 on a special place… so New York popped up as the place to be. During our 2 weeks stay we visited our family living over there and we saw a lot of interesting places. And although we are not used to such a crowded place, we enjoyed it very much.

Later that year in 2001, Greet was invited to speak on a seminar of the American Society of Criminology in San Francisco, so we booked a 3 week vacation in California. California dreamin' On such a winter's day, we stayed there in October/November, was really worth it. This states combines nice cities with lovely nature. We ended the vacation with a little family reunion in New York.

For 3 years we skipped our far away travel: we bought a house, so our priority shifted, but meanwhile the plans were being made to return.

Then, in 2004, we flew back to California. As we visited in 2000 the north/east , this year we went more to the west and south. From the ocean to the mountains, places we will never forget. And again we ended our vacation visiting our overseas family.

In 2005, we flew back to Los Angeles from where we travelled for 3 weeks in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. There is no comparison between these different states. Different culture, different nature, from tower office buildings to desolate dessert areas, this vacation covered all of these aspects.

The year 2006 brought us back to New York. As we didn’t have much of free time that year, work was absorbing my free time and we even had to reschedule our vacations for more than a month, a 2 week city trip seemed like a proper solution. Staying 2 weeks in New York allows you to go further than the touristic places described in the travel guides.

Denver was our place of arrival in 2007. From Colorado we drove through Nebraska to South Dakota, next to Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah to end in Nevada. Be prepared to drive long roads between the points of interest. But the point w e visited were really worth every mile.

Florida was our goal in 2008, the vacation of the attractions and adventure parks. Except for a few days national parks, we plunged ourselves in the city life of Florida, a unique experience in comparison with places previous visited.

May 2010, we went beck for a 10 day visit of New York.
